So Far Today...

I actually got out of bed after an evening of body pain.  Mostly from pulling muscles in my back, shoulders and arms this past week at work.  Welcome back to school.

Today, I’m still nauseous and sore, but I’ve made some progress.

1 load of dishes and cleaning the kitchen countertops.

1 load of laundry and clean clothes were put away.

A second scented stick was put in the little box for them in my closet.

Another load of laundry switched out and work pants put away.  The maroon work shirts are in the dryer while the forest green are still in the washer awaiting it’s turn.  I wash them together on delicate and then dry them separately.  It’s weird, but it works.  BTW, everything gets washed in cold unless I need to sanitize it, but colors always get washed in cold.

I finally got the computer up and running (I ran updates on it 2 days ago) and got my iTunes back up and running, so I’m listening to The Millionaire Next Door on audiobook.  I’ve listened to it many times before, but it’s one of those I can leave for a few minutes and know what I’ve missed.

A second load of dishes in the dishwasher, this has cleared out the human dishes in the sink.  Previous loads were the cat food dishes.

One litter box has been switched out, 2 bags of trash have been taken to the dumpster.

I ate breakfast and took meds, I need to take my inhaler and take a nap.  I feel week and out of energy, I’m also very warm, but that could be the menopause.  Once the clothes are done, I need to do my undergarments and bath stuff.

Oh, and at some point I need to take the baggie of vinegar off the shower head and rinse it off.  We’ll see if it made a dent with the shower head.

Update:  It’s a little after noon and the dishes are in the drying cycle, the laundry has been switched out and the dry work shirts put away.  I’ve taken my vitamins since it’s been 2 hours after taking the antibiotic I have from the last time I got sick.  Hopefully the meds and vitamins will help my body heal.

Your Friday Night Ahhh.

I’m so exhausted.  I was a little worried I might fall asleep behind the wheel.  I clocked out today and found my hours for the week:  47.  Not quite the 50 I was estimating, but it was close.  I’m ready for good food, and a lot of sleep.  I’ve put a sandwich bag with vinegar in it on the shower head, it’s only giving a trickle of water due to the hard water here.  Also a load of laundry and a load of dishes.  More to do tomorrow and to see what can be done with the decluttering.  We will see how it goes.

This Week May Have To Be Skipped...

After a 10 hour day at work on Monday, Tuesday became an 11 hour and 45 minute workday, after a 1 hour lunch.  Given the load of work handed to my coworker and I, I’m figuring on a lot of long days this week.  I do need to finish the sheet sets (part 3), comforters (part 4), books on cooking, gardening, decor that I keep in the dining room bookshelf.  I have plans to do it, just no time to do it before I’m supposed to be in bed for the night.

Maybe I can do an extra week in August, depending on my workload.

I do plan on continuing with the decluttering, though, it has been great to have less to clean and care for and be able to see the results!

Much, much more to go through and do, though.

Take care, I’ll try to post something soon.

Day 24 - His And Hers... A Little Delayed

Yesterday was day 1 of the new teachers coming for their computer training.

This meant my carrying 30-50 pounds of computer equipment out of my office and into the training facility.  Needless to say, my body was stiff and hurting.  And that was after a 10 hour work day (we are supposed to be at 8 now), a trip to Costco for gas in the car, a trip to Walmart for groceries and then home.

Tired.

Day 23: Stuffed Animals Part 2

After Decker died, I was gathering all of the stuff animals I have collected over the years, I heard about and purchased a toy hammock at Toys R Us (RIP).  My Dad put it up for me and I proceeded to fill it to the gills with stuffed animals.  Again, some from family, friends and then some came from boyfriends and/or husband.

Just a note, I kept the wild animals and one Dalmatian given that I am going to be theming my office as Disneyland (the park).  The animals will be part of Adventureland.

Here we go:

What I’m donating (except for Gypsy):

Yes, that red thing is a Noid.  As in Domino’s Pizza’s Avoid The Noid.  There is a story behind that, but not today.  LOL.

Keepers:

Yes, I’m keeping E.T.  Mickey and Minnie are my 1970’s dolls that my parents got for me during trips to Disneyland, back in the days of E Tickets.  Yeah, I’m that old, people.  Get over it.  LOL.

The Pillsbury Dough Boy was my first stuffed animal as a baby.  My sister and I had matching ones and this was the surviving one given that I removed it from her house and put it in a safe place.  The Dough Boy is strictly lines and clothes painted on, so it’s safe for a baby to hold and chew on.  Definitely needs to be washed.

The unicorn in the back will go with my Harry Potter stuff.

The final result:

Day 22: Bedding Part 1

I have a lot of sheets and pillow cases.  I like to buy pillow cases, because I usually go through those faster than I do the sheets between wash cycles.

I have sets that are off white for one set of shams and decorative pillows, then I have a bunch of white sets for the guest bed and for my 2nd set of sheet sets.  A little convoluted, but it actually works.  Keep in mind, I also through in this hamper more stuff from Mom’s place, so there were a few pieces that could be donated to Deseret Industries, others that will have to be donated to the Animal Control.  They are probably wondering why I’m donating so much stuff to them, but I’d rather do it now than leave to someone else after I go.  Besides, I’ve lived with this stuff long enough.

This isn’t all of it, hence the Part 1.  There will be more to come.

And this piece is done!  More to come, but we are making progress!  And a surprise visitor!

Day 21 - Stuffed Animals Part 1

Among the items too numerous to count are the stuffed animals I have.  This collection started when I was a child, however I was limited to what I could have, but over the years with family, friends, guys I’ve dated, the man I married, this collection has grown to unmanageable proportions.  I found two large black garbage bags with stuffed animals.  I looked them over, took pictures and they are being given away to new homes.  They blessed my life, now it is time for them to bless others.  There was one that I kept, the rest have been donated.

A recap of days 19 & 20 as I get everything packed up for donation:

Among the clothing items donated was the dress I wore to my baptism for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  December 22, 1984, I was 18 years old.

Now for the stuffed animals.  My apologies for anyone who gave me these treasures if they are offended that I gave them new life in a new home:

The bags in the guest bathroom:

Now for the final haul to Deseret Industries:

And one last picture of the empty containers:

So Far Today...

After breakfast for the cats and myself (different food, I promise), I took the load of old pillows and towels to the Animal Control place for donation.

Afterwards, I took the recycling out and stopped off at the Water & Ice place I go to and filled up one of my five gallon barrels with water, prepaid.

Once home, I then gathered up donations from the 19th, 20th and items for tomorrow and drove them to Deseret Industries for donation.

I came home, drenched in perspiration, and settled down to cool down, drinking a Vitamin Water (XXX) to rehydrate the electrolytes.

I’ve done a few loads of laundry and just did a declutter (somewhat) of the dining room table.  It’s not perfect yet, but it’s getting there.

Day 20: More Old Clothes

Believe it or not, I still have more old clothes that have been in bins elsewhere in my home.  Not all of these items will be donated, but they do need to go somewhere other than taking up space in my guest bathroom.

Your Friday Ahhh...

Day 19: A Few More Things From Mom

These next few days are some light days, I’ve been working later than just the mere 10 hour days, sleeping little and in need of a break.  Today’s and tomorrow’s bags will actually be taken care of on Friday, when I will be home to take care of all of this.  Thankfully, this week is the last week of four 10 hour days per week.  Next week will go back to the eight our days, five days per week schedule.

A few more items from Mom’s kitchen to donate.

Day 18 - Uniform Tops

A bag of work uniform tops that were given to me but never worn because they don’t fit.  I’ll see if anyone else at work can use them.

Day 17 - Technology Recycling

I’m finally turning in the iPad 2 I purchased eons ago, it’s too old to go past iOS 10 and many apps will not work on it anymore.  This was one of the motivating reasons I bought an iPad Pro.

Day 16 - Clothing Declutter

I woud use the declutter challenge as an excuse to eliminate more t-shirts and tops out of my drawer, I don’t need four blue tops with the identical cut. I picked my favorite two and will give away the rest. Also, a hoodie jacket that I’ve never worn. I’m sure it is really warm, but I’ve not used it. I’d rather bless someone else with it.

The finished product:

Rick Steves In Europe

I have a set of blue ray disks with his tours on them.  Someday I’ll get to see some of these places in person.

My Week’s Activities

Monday, July 9th, I worked at my job, afterwards stopping off at Fry’s for groceries due to the monsoon storm occurring at that time.  I keep an umbrella in my backpack, so it has come in handy this week.

After grocery shopping, I stopped off at Staples to pick up the zippered notebook I ordered.  More on that later.  Then I went home, ran my bedding in the washer and dryer, and after feeding the cats and myself, I took a bag of plastics and aluminum cans to the recycling area before going to bed for the night.

Tuesday, July 10th, again there was a monsoon storm leaving work.  I went straight home, and managed to beat the UPS delivery guy in stopping off to drop off another package, from Costco, to my home.  I had already fed the cats, so I took the donations for Deseret Industries out of the house.  It has completely filled the back seat in my car.  Then I ate dinner and watched some YouTube.

Wednesday, July 11th,  I headed straight over to Deseret Industries with the piles of bags of donations.  I lost count of how many bags, but it completely filled the back seat area of my car!  Due to the storms again for tonight, no recycling was taking over to the center.  Maybe Saturday.

Thursday, July 12th, after going home and feeding the cats, I went to Costco and put gas in the car, as well as picked a few minor purchases.  I actually went there to get something in particular for one of my nieces, however Costco didn’t have it available.  I need to do more laundry and dishes, but right now, I’m just enjoying sitting and not doing too much of anything.  LOL.  A long week.

Friday, July 13th, the one year anniversarry of my Mother’s passing.  My day is packed.  After eating breakfast, I did have the presence of mind to take a couple of ibuprofen before going to the dentist.  An implant has been installed.  Afterwards, I went home and switched out my notebook to a new notebook from Case It.  Here are a few pictures.

Click here for the post on my planner, including a link for the daily planner pages.

I stopped off and made a deposit at the Credit Union which is across the street from the Discount Tire where I had my tires rotated and the low pressure ones filled back up with air.

Once that was done, I packed up a package for one of my nieces, along with the silk flowers for the graves of my parents and husband.  These are going to be Days  13 & 14 for the 31 Days challenge.

I delivered the package for the niece in east Gilbert, then drove to the cemetery and put the flowers on the graves.

Last year the office for the mortuary and cemetery caught fire and was bulldozed down to the cement foundation.  Because of this, the chapel where we held my Father’s service was no more.  Mom’s service was held in the Mausoleum.  It looks like it has been recently finished and the moving trucks were there to get it finished.

After the cemetery, I drove down the road to where Mom and I used to go a lot for lunch or dinner - In & Out.

It’s not every day a girl get’s told she’s number 1!

Saturday, July 14.  The day started off with several loads of laundry and two loads of dishes.  I also cleaned the counters and floor in my kitchen.  After watching a few of the new FlyLady series of videos on the Sink Reflections book, I went ahead and checked the Christmas lights and found they were all working.  I called the Stake Young Women’s President and they were more than happy to take them.  Yay!  I drove them over and delivered them, so they are now out of my home.  I still need to get the donations for the Animal Control Center over there, I just wasn’t in the mood for driving in the heat.

I still need to go through the sheets and pillow cases, I have more clothes to go through, they are in the guest bathroom in a bin.  I also have some salvageable kitchen items from Mom’s house that are in a separate bin and need to be boxed up and donated.  I still have a lot of work to do, but it is eventually getting there and I’m starting to see results.  Some of my dresser drawers:

The hanging stuff in my closet:

See the gap below?  That’s called progress!

Sunday, July 15 - a quiet day of laundry, dishes, and getting three days of bags gathered and blogged for Monday- Wednesday.  I also washed the cat’s water bowls.
