Odysea, butterflies and bodies oh my!

This afternoon I had the opportunity to go to Odysea Aquarium, which includes a butterfly interaction, a reptile area that reminded me of Harry Potter Book 1 and the exhibition showing bodies of real people who donated their bodies for science.  A lot to take in, but it was wonderful.  Here are a few snapshots.

This Past Weekend

This past weekend was a great weekend.

Friday night I did a load of dishes and 2 loads of laundry.

Saturday I had a Relief Society Orientation for my new calling as assistant secretary for the Relief Society.

After returning home from that, I took a bag of recycling to the center.  I took a bag of stuffed animals to DI.  Following that, I went to Costco and got the shopping needed there.

I stopped off at the Panda Express drive through and got their Honey Sesame Chicken.  Really, really good.  Crunchy chicken.

I spent the rest of the evening getting laundry done.

Sunday, after Church I went on splits with the welcoming committee.  I haven’t had to do anything like that for years and it felt great!

Happy, Happy Saturday

Last night was fun at Doc & Eddy’s, a local sports bar with some pretty good food.

I’ve been so sick and taking so much medication, though, I don’t think my taste buds were up to it, but I was so hungry I ate way more than I usually do these days.

So I came home half sick at my stomach.

My home is in complete chaos.  FlyLady chaos.  This past week has been the week of major storms on a daily basis - welcome to Monsoon season.  With that means you have to time any house cleaning to make sure you’re not trying to do it during a blackout.  It also means that Dawn wakes up during the storms in the middle of the night, and doesn’t sleep until the storms are done.  Pretty much not much sleep this past week.

This doesn’t help the bronchitis I’ve been fighting.

It was also the first week of school, complete with blackouts and flooding, on top of the normal stuff we deal with when students return to school.  It made for a challenging week.

The political news has been crazy.  I don’t remember a time in history when there has been so much turbulence in every aspect of a person’s normal life than what we have right now.

I’ve had my breakfast, the cats have had their breakfast, I’ve run a load of dishes and taken out a bag of trash.  I need to get started on laundry and, despite having slept in until 7, I need to take a nap.

Have a safe and great day today.

A History of Finance

It’s been a while since I posted these videos on this blog, but it’s worth looking at given the trade wars and debt wars the U.S. is in.

Save your pennies, everyone.

Ah, Friday

I’m thankful it’s Friday.  It’s been a very long week.

This past Tuesday I ended up at a Banner Urgent Care for sinus infection and bronchitis.  ‘Tis the season, with the dust storms occurring almost daily.

The cool part?  My primary care physician is at a Banner Health Clinic, which meant the Banner Urgent Care had access to my medical records without filling out paperwork on every known issue in my life.

The urgent care was located within a couple miles from where I work and the pharmacy was on the opposite corner of the street from the urgent care.

Easy.

I’m also extremely thankful for the ministering sister from my Ward who brought me some fresh chicken noodle soup and salad Wednesday night.

With my hours starting to return to normal, I’ve been able to start getting laundry and dishes caught up.

We’ll see how this weekend goes.

In the meantime...

A new month for FlyLady...

And a different favorite YouTube calling for a 30 bags in 30 days challenge to declutter...
