Days 19-29

Paper plates dating back to when Decker was alive and plastic cutlery dating back to our wedding in 1998.  No joke.

Bonus:  a case of Cliff Bars.

Progress Not Perfection

It’s not done yet, but I’m building systems...  Also, I’m counting this as days 19, 20 & 21.

Thankful It’s Friday

It’s so sad to see how many of the young generations have never heard nor watched this movie, but these scenes sure got me through today.

What’s Up Doc

Progress!

With the last declutter I was able to make some progress in my crazy storage bin collection.

Day 16 - 17 - 18

I have a friend who is in need of this stuff right now... and I’m thankful to be in a position to give it to her if she wants it.  If not, donation!

Epiphany - Revelation

Today I was re-listening to Dana White’s audiobook on keeping a clean house and my mind went to my hope chest in my home.  It was always a place to keep things for me to use later on in life.

Then I realized, this is later on in my life.  The time for me to use the items is now.

Now I just need to work my way to get to it this weekend, as I know I have some items in there I could give to a friend in need.

Days 14 & 15

Magnets I’ve had removed from the refrigerator and placed in a file folder for years now, I’m finally disposing.  There are more than 29 here, but I don’t care, I want them gone.  LOL.

Progress!

Day 13

A bunch of stuff accumulated that has never actually been used in 20 years.  Time to go.

There is more to go, but I’m making progress!

ANWA Conference 2020

Today was a fun day!

It was the ANWA Conference - digital via Zoom so it made it easier for me because I didn’t need to leave the house!

I learned a lot and enjoyed a lot of it (when I wasn’t falling asleep).

10 September 2020

Today was a great day, mostly because I was able to get the items for days 6, 8, 12 donated.

Woo hoo!

I also remembered this day is an anniversary for me:  It’s the one year anniversary since I had surgery last year.  The big surgery.  The hysterectomy.

I’m so thankful I am where I am at health wise, as well as mental health wise.

Update 8 September 2020

Today was good day at work, I got off late in order to catch up on a few things at my desk.

Went home, fed the cats, ran a load of laundry and a load of dishes.

I took more recycling items out to my cart (I got rid of some items today after work).

Slowly things are shaping up and I feel a lot less anxiety!

Blessings!

The Books I’m Listening To Right Now

All of these are fantastic (and clean) reads and I plan on re-reading/listening to them again as I go through the process of getting my life (and my home) back in order.  I highly recommend these books.  Atomic Habits has been a game changer for me.

How To Manager Your Home Without Losing Your Mind - By Dana K. White

Labor Day 2020

Thankfully I had today off from work, so I was able to get a few things done:

I took the cans from day 30 + to the recycling.

I refilled a 5 gallon container with potable water.

I stopped by Walgreens but the pharmacy was closed, but I did pick up a couple of boxes of nitrile gloves to take in to work.

I picked up takeout from Wendy’s.

This was after I did some self care this morning at a leisurely rate which allowed for me to take care of me.

After feeding the cats and eating at home, I took one of the boxes (Day 6 and Day 8 I’m making arrangements for) of donations to Goodwill.  Deseret Industries was closed for Labor Day.

Once I can get those boxes out, I’ll have more room to start with Day 11 work my way through the month.  I’m focusing on the kitchen and dining room for the most part, as I know I have so much clutter there I should have no problems getting all of the items from those two rooms alone.

Once this month is done, I’ll pick another month to do the living room.

The reason for this is due to some crazy dreams I had Friday night/Saturday morning where my mind began re-living Decker’s death.  Then I got up, walked out into the living room and realized that my home was starting to look like my Mother’s did when she passed.  It woke me up and made me realize how bad my home was getting with the clutter, not to mention the spiders taking over my home.  That’s not what I want for my home, I want it to be a temple.

With the self care from today, I am doing much better now.

Recycling the cat food cans...

Days 9 & 10 Combined

Clearing out a lot of spiders.  It’s only the beginning...

The Minimalism Game - First Attempt

I thought I would give this a try in order to get some things out of my home.

Here is a video from a channel I love on YouTube, Vested Interests, on how the game works.

Apparently it’s any items, including trash, which is going to make this REALLY easy for me.

This is what I have so far:

Day 1:

Day 2:

Day 3:

Day 4:

Day 5:

Day 6:

Day 7:  The placemats from the 80’s
