Harry & Fawkes

Many of you know I’m a Harry Potter nut, although, I’m not sure which I love more, Harry Potter or Disney.  Tough choice if I had to make one.

So, this is something that I’ve been thinking about for a while.

What if:  Harry is symbolically a phoenix, just like Fawkes is an actual phoenix?

What if:  Harry was “christened” with Fawkes’ tears as a baby?  We know that Dumbledore had visited James and Lily just prior to their deaths, because he had possession of James’ cloak of invisibility.

Would that have had anything to do with Harry rising like a phoenix as he grew older and being able to meet the challenges of living with the Dursleys?

Remember, in book 2 (Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets), Fawkes gives tears to Harry.  Not to Ginny, not to Ron, only to Harry.  What physiological effect would those tears have on Harry’s body in handling the challenges that would come later?

Would the tears (along with the tail feather in Harry’s wand) have been instrumental in the wand shielding Harry from the killing curse every time it was tossed at him?

The other question is regarding the cloak.  Since Peter Pettigrew was giving information to Voldemort, does that mean that, while he was intent on killing Harry to stop Harry from killing Voldemort, was Voldemort seeking to kill James because he knew from Peter that James would have the cloak of invisibility?
