Day 4 - Happy Independence Day!

Day 4 of the 30 bags in 30 days challenge.

Today it was going through my tall dresser in the closet to pull out the work shirts filled with holes.  I’ve replaced them the last few months with new shirts that are going through the delicate cycle from now on, because apparently my washing machine loves to rip my work shirts apart.

I cut the identifying logos for these and I plan to see if the local no-kill shelter would like to use these as rags or something for the animals staying there to sleep on.  We’ll see if they take them.  Eight shirts out of my closet and out of my home!

Progress!

Costco Haul

I went to Costco today, but as I mentioned a week or so ago I only spent money on the gasoline for my car.  The Costco gift cards I received for purchasing and having installed the HVAC system and hot water heater have been a real treat for me, given the amount of money I’ve spent this year in medical bills.

Today’s total:  $111.60

And yes, after having no chocolate for two days, I tapped into the box of Famous Amos.  LOL.  Let’s see how much my self control holds up.  LOL.

Day 3

A mini purge of books out of my bedroom bookcase.

There will probably be more book purges before this month is finished.

Day 2

Day two of the 30 Bags In 30 Days Challenge.

All of my makeup.  ALL of it.  The reason?  The last time I went shopping for makeup would have been around 2003 when I was dating a widower.

That was 15 years ago if you do the math.

Yep.

Then when the crash occurred in 2008, I no longer had any money to spend on makeup, or getting my hair done, for that matter.

At some point, once all the craziness with the medical and dental work has finished, I’ll get all new makeup.  I didn’t count it, I just bagged it up and tossed it into the Household Hazardous Waste box.  I don’t know if they can dispose of it, or if it just goes in the trash.

I was actually organized with it, though, I had the large bag holding smaller makeup bags (free with purchase type bags) and the smaller bags held the makeup.  One for lip stuff, eye pencils and mascara (anything shaped like a tube), Once for those trial sized face cleaners and moisturizers, another for eyeshadow and powder in square or rectangular compacts.

I didn’t count, but I know it was over 27 items.

What I kept, application tips, Q-tips, my one and only makeup brush, a trial sized bottle of perfume (it still smells good) and my pink bag that I use to hold costume jewelry.  These have already been given new homes.

Why Is Everyone Fat, Broke And Busy?

No fat shaming here, I’m fat too.  LOL.

Based one what Jeff Gaines says, I need to get both keys turned at the same time.

30 Bags In 30 Days... Can I Do It?

I honestly don’t know, but hey, I’ll give it a shot!

July 1:  A bag of Mom’s old Harlequin Romance books... along with 2 bags of recycling.  LOL
