My Idea For Using The Bailout Money

Here's an idea I've come up with for using the bailout money to assist the banks in a way that makes sense.

Create a branch of the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development that will use the bailout money to lease foreclosed homes from the banks and turn them into shelters for the homeless. Homeless people are using these homes for shelters, but doing so as squatters, meaning the bank is still not generating an income from the property.

As the residents of these shelters get jobs and are able to get a home of their own, the leasing money could be used as a government backed loan towards the down payment to purchase the home they have been using as their shelter.

This helps by providing the banks with a genuine income from the properties they now own, and it gives people who have become homeless as a result of this mess a safe place to stay and an address to use in order to find employment.

Tent Cities

For those of you unfamiliar with shanty towns, they are now known as tent cities. If you have seen the movie "My Man Godfrey", then you know what I'm talking about.

Today Sister Jessica Martin talked about how these are springing up all over the place.

Here's a BBC report on the topic:

And here is another report, done for the Oprah Winfrey Show, the report done by Lisa Ling:

Latest Fluffy Picture Post

Okay. So people want fluffy pictures with happy posts, so here's the problem.

Dead husband = no new pictures from heaven.

No children = no pictures or posts on pooping, peeing, bleeding, eating, burping, smiling, sleeping, etc. All I have is a Mother and a cat. Since Mother is not particularly interested in getting her photos taken, it will have to rest on my poor cat to fill in the gap. :o)

In case you are wondering what's going on here's the story.

I have a photomosaic picture in my living room of Abraham Lincoln. He's a hero of mine. The photomosaic is a large picture made up of a bunch of little pictures. In this case, all of the little pictures used in this came from the Civil War.

For some reason, Rachel loves to look at Lincoln. I guess it's the little pictures. Every once in a while she will even begin scratching at them.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Post

IT"S A THREE DAY WEEKEND!

I Am Definitely Not Yet As Job

Do you have a calling, or job or position, in your Church? If you're a Mormon, chances are you do. And if you're a Mormon, you've been taught to sustain people in their callings.

Do people really know what that means, though? Lately, with my own calling, I've gotten the feeling like people don't care.

Then I wonder how many times we treat the Lord this way, and yet expect immediate assistance when we run into trouble.

I've deleted the rest out of consideration of the people who care about me, as for the rest, they know who they are, what they've done and it will be up to the Lord to deal with.

This is one calling I will be glad to be released from.
