Unplugging In 2022
I’ve already limited my use of Facebook to an average of 1 hour per day. The same thing for Twitter. I don’t do Snapchat or Tik Tok at all. Instagram I may check once per month for select accounts.
Starting in January, I plan to remove YouTube from my devices. I’m addicted to it. I still have MasterClass and Skillshare and the SaintsChannel.
I’ve also “decluttered “ Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple +, Ancestry, Patreon and Dezign Club until I pay off my debts.
I never got the Disney + so that’s one less service I need to worry about.

Grieving
This is extremely important for everyone to learn about, given the levels of grief worldwide. πππ

Healing
The pictures are explained by the video at the bottom. This is so well expressed and describes a lot of the lessons I’ve learned this past year and still continuing to learn now.
The interesting part? I’m 55 years old now and have been widowed since I was 33 years old. ππππππ
Thank you, Peter.

Healthcare Is Still An Issue
The sad part is this has been going on for years now and people are still buying the same lies.
Wendell Potter wrote about this in hi book “Deadly Spin”. I read the book over a decade ago.
My personal opinion? No companies or organizations who have any role in healthcare or the pharmaceutical industry should be for profit companies and organizations. They should be required by law to operate as a nonprofit organization or not operate at all.

Attempt number 3
I started working on my list after work and managed to get a lot done!
For anyone who doesn’t read chicken scratch:
I fed the cats, ate dinner, picked up my snail mail, scheduled my next bloodwork appointment, paid the bill for the previous appointment, ran a load of dishes and laundry, took the trash out, took some recycling out to my car for drop off today and changed my bedding.
After which I set my alarm and went to bed and crashed for the entire night. π

The Difference Between Strength versus Resilience
I’ve been listening to a lot of books and learning a lot about myself.
The past few moths, I’ve read:
Reading now:
Several of the books have ripped off several bandages over my picked together, Humpty Dumpty, spirit.
I’m learning a lot, including the difference between strength and resilience.

Planners, Planners, Planners!
Each stage of my life has required a different planner. In the past I’ve used the Eisenhower Matrix, Clever Fox Planners, tweaked versions of a teacher planning book and currently a Molskine planner. In the interest of trying something new, I’m trying two new ones.
She’s In Her Apron has a quarterly planner and SilkAndSonder has a monthly self care planner. I’ll add links under each picture on how to get these.

My habit tracker from Atomic Habits and my reward for the evening.
My journal for recording my feelings during this time.

1 June 2021
I’m re-reading Atomic Habits by James Clear via audiobook.
Learned (again):
Don’t stress the goals, stress the systems that will lead you to your goals.
Go for the small, incremental changes, not the finished product. Those changes will lead to a finished product.
Tonight’s systems:
Dishes - 1 load
Laundry- 1 load
Trash - 1 bag
Recycling- 1 bag
We’ll see how long I can keep this going!

Here are the results for the kitchen:
It’s not perfect but I can now see kitchen countertops. I’ll take it!
And as a reward, I treated myself to French Toast from Cracker Barrel.

Today I took a carload of donations to Deseret Industries and drove away with a feeling of peace. I’m not just re-learning to reduce the volume of contents in my home, I’m learning to be a better steward for the blessings in my life.
This was my January goal, however January didn’t end well and February I was not in a good place emotionally.
Now I’m working on making my home to resemble a temple it should be.
The focus was on the kitchen, the next focus will be on the dining room.

Productive Day Today
After my morning shower, I ate a sausage, egg, potato and cheese bowl that was heated up in the microwave.
I went to work and took some of my whiteboard supplies to work, so I was able to Declutter a little bit. LOL.
This evening after work I ran a load of dishes and a load of laundry then took out the trash for tomorrow’s pickup.
While heating up a frozen dinner, I changed my bedding. Lots to do this weekend to finish the kitchen area off strong!

Busy Day Today
This morning started off with a vet checkup for Beezer.
After taking him home, I started to clear some of the clutter in the doorway by putting empty boxes for donations in one location while using my cart to take some filled donation boxes down to my car.
With that I also brought up the filled water bottle out of my car so it can be used in my home.
I then took some recycling down to the car, along with an empty water bottle to fill up while in the area of where I take the recycling.
After disposing of the recycling and filling the water bottle, I drove to Walmart and did some grocery shopping.
Then I used the cart (again) to take the groceries up to my home and afterwards the filled bottle of water.
While doing that last trip, I had a load of dishes going in the dishwasher.
Now that I’ve sat down for a little bit, ate a snack and fed the cats, my home is looking a little cleaner around the doorway and I now have more of my favorite beverages to drink.
Not bad!
