Pulmonary Embolism

In case you are wondering, Decker was misdiagnosed as having a heart attack when he died. An autopsy was ordered by the police, and it was discovered to not be a heart attack but a Pulmonary Embolism brought on by Deep Vein Thrombosis. This is another medical condition that doesn't have to be fatal if it is diagnosed and treated properly.

When was the autopsy done? This whole time I have been thinking it was something else.

The autopsy was ordered by the police as part of the investigation as to why he died. It was done before his body was released to the mortuary. I believe it was done the day after his death, I'd have to look at the results. It took a few months, with toxicology reports, to get the results back, but my attorney told me to request a copy and I did.

I haven't looked at them in a while, but his official cause of death was a pulmonary thromboemboli brought on by deep vein thrombosis. The autopsy results showed his heart was perfectly normal.
